I am a warm individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills developed over a number of years of working with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and age groups. Having spent many years working as a City IT professional and first-hand experience of parenting, I believe I bring a rich and diverse range of personal experience to my practice.
I offer counselling to adults and young persons 16 years + and my areas of interest and experience include:
The counselling relationship is one built on mutual respect and collaboration as we work together to unpick what might be troubling you. Therapy can give you the space to organise your thoughts and make better sense of the situation. My focus is centred on you as the client, and I will draw on a range of theoretical and practical training in a way that is most supportive to you and your issues. I am not there to just simply listen; I see the work as a collaboration between the two of us. I will, very much, be a part of the process with you and I am willing to say what I am seeing. You may begin to see patterns of responding which are no longer helpful and with this increase in self-awareness my aim is to support you in making any changes necessary to help restore your wellbeing.
Training & Experience:
I am a qualified counsellor, holding a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Counselling and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Alongside my work in private practice, I provide counselling for 6th form students at a college in Hampshire and am the Head of Counselling for a counselling service in Winchester.
I welcome you initially, to a free, no-obligation fifteen minute’s phone consultation to discuss any questions and get a sense of how we may work together. My charges are £60.00 for a 50-minute session, payable in advance. In addition to providing face-to-face therapy, I also offer online sessions for clients. Cancellations, with no charge, require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.
